Description
The Oviedo Mall is teaming up with two organizations to support two different but great causes. Radio Disney will be on site from 12-2pm for their usual fun and games, however this time; they will also be collecting school supplies to support The Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Stampin’ Up! will also be on site from 12-3pm making holiday cards for the troops stationed overseas.
The school supply drive will focus on collecting writing tools such as prepackaged pens, pencils, crayons, and markers. The drive is a national initiative Radio Disney is hosting as part of their Friends for Change program in conjunction with Project Family. All writing utensils collected on September 15th across the nation at Radio Disney events will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. “Even though school has already started, not all needs have been met” stated Sara Steffes, Oviedo Mall Marketing Manager. “We are very excited to be a part of this national program supporting the Boys & Girls’ Clubs of America. Shoppers can swing by the Dollar Tree pick up a donation, and enjoy the activities at the mall.”
Stampin’ Up! will also be at Oviedo Mall on September 15th, supporting a different cause; US Troops stationed overseas. Stampin’ Up! developed the idea of offering the community a free opportunity to make holiday cards for the troops. Participants are welcome to join Stampin’ Up! in the Community Room from 12n to 3p and will be given all supplies necessary to make a holiday card. All completed cards will be collected by Oviedo Mall and packaged for shipping overseas in order for the troops to receive them in time for the holiday season. “This is the perfect opportunity to get involved in an easy and effective way, especially for families”, stated Steffes. “There are a lot of people looking for a way to contribute and support US troops and Stampin’ Up! has stepped up to the plate to offer a great service”.
